Account Tally / Accounts Assistant

Job Summary:
The Account Tally role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring that financial transactions are correctly entered into the accounting system. The role involves using Tally software for financial reporting, invoicing, and bookkeeping, along with assisting in various accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Account Management:
    • Record day-to-day financial transactions in Tally software.
    • Maintain ledgers and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
    • Reconcile bank accounts and other financial statements.
    • Prepare and maintain trial balance, balance sheet, and P&L statements.
  2. Billing and Invoicing:
    • Generate invoices and manage accounts receivable and payable.
    • Process payments and manage outstanding balances.
  3. Taxation and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with GST, VAT, and other tax-related matters.
    • Assist in preparing tax returns and related documentation.
    • Keep track of tax filings and deadlines.
  4. Reports and Analysis:
    • Generate financial reports using Tally.
    • Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
    • Prepare periodic financial summaries and reports for management.
  5. Audit Support:
    • Assist in internal and external audits.
    • Maintain financial documentation for audit purposes.
  6. General Accounting:
    • Support in month-end and year-end closing processes.
    • Help with payroll processing and other accounting-related tasks.
Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in Tally ERP software.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and other office applications.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounting or using Tally.
  • Certification in Accounting (e.g., CA, ACCA) is a plus but not mandatory.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of GST and other tax regulations.
